
Thomas William Selleck is an American actor. His first role was the private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988), for which he was awarded five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series with the winner being announced in 1985. From 2010 until 2010 Selleck has played the role of New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. From 2005 onward the actor played troubled small-town police chief Jesse Stone in nine television films based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). In addition, he has appeared in more than 50 other film and television roles since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter. He was a recurring TV actor on the show playing Monica Geller's love interest, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming and charming companion on The Rockford Files; and A.J., casino owner.
