Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg is a Swedish actress from Sweden. Her roles were in several films, both European as well as American. The most famous of her roles was her part in the comedy-drama film "La Dolce vita". It was a huge critical and commercial success, as having won an Oscar at the Cannes Film Festival 1960. Before she began her career in acting, the Swedish-born actress worked as a fashion model for international magazines. She eventually won the Miss Sweden Contest. In the US her first appearance was in films playing minor roles. Her first credit role was in the movie "Abbott and Co. Go to Mars in which she was in the role of a Venusian guard. In the following year, she won the Golden Globe award in the "Most Promising Youngcomer" category after appearing in the film 'Bloodalley'. Through her entire career, she was a part of many other films such as the war film by American Italian "War and Peace," the Western movie 'Valerie' and the British adventure crime film 'The Man Inside as well as The French-Italian film 'The Dam on the Yellow River'.
